Flash Friday 55 - "What's a penny"?

A sign on the toll booth read....NO PENNIES

Hilary asked "What's a penny"?

"Oh, I replied...it's like a pence"!

That's how it started. A friendship that spanned a decade.

Today, I weep for you my friend...as I continue to find pennies in odd places.

Today March 19th, 2010 is the 1 year anniversary of my friend Hilarys passing. She lived in London and despite our distance we shared a strong bond. I miss my ole, dear friend...

My 4 visits to see her across the pond were some of my best memories. I still keep in touch with her sister and nieces. If you have any friends you haven't spoken with in a long time give them a call and just say "hi" I miss you...

secret agent woman: funny, I was looking for british coins...but my friend despite being a Brit, was Irish at heart! She would have got a kick out of this slip up! :D

What a wonderful 55 followed up by that suggestion to get in touch with friends not spoken to in a long time. I can think of someone I need to call. Maybe this will spur me to do just that.

It's the same for me, the little things seem to trigger memories of those friends and family that have a special place in our memories.

Your last words are so painfully true - I'm sorry you've lost your friend.

But I loved your 55! My kids made quite a few friends last summer in America, exchanging coins with each other and asking questions.

Hello Lulda. I dropped in to check out your blog. Thank you for checking me out via Hilary. What a strange world this blogging is. I am sorry to hear of your loss of a good friend. I will take your advice and get in touch with a few I have not been in contact with for some time. Thanks for the nudge...I sometimes need this.
