Revisiting the city Dana grew up in caused her dismay.
Everything had changed. The whole waterfront was now developed
with new high rises and flashy storefronts.
Young people paraded around without a clue of the historical past
that haunted this place.
Dana was sad to give up the past...but hopeful to see this revision.

I think that's why they say, "You can't go back home" - because of change.

very reflective,
loved it,
Thanks for sharing!
A sad fact for many of us, the longer we are gone, the more we only visit in our memories, for every thing else has changed when we do back.
Nice reflective 55er,
Joanny
I guess being hopeful is what keeps us going.;)
Have a lovely weekend,
xoxo
Sad yet hopeful. What a fabulous 55. I too love the painting.
I am grateful that my memories can stay intact even though the actual places don't.
