Flash Fiction 55 - "Bones and Muscles"


I'm sick of studying bones and muscles, Julia proclaimed.
Why did I ever want to be an orthopedic surgeon?
The answer was simple. To follow in her fathers footsteps.
The famous Dr. Wilbur Hetzog was now retired but not forgotten.
With a heavy sigh she turned the page.
She began..supraspinatus...scalenes...sternum...sternocleidomastiod!

It begins with one step and so I started that walk.
Every night around the track.

Solid soles hitting the crushed gravel.
And so it goes with one step...I start the journey of discovery.

Finding insight in the heavens above; breathing in oxygen to cleanse the solid soul.
Challenges await...

THE COUGAR

Sharp as a whip the cougar studied her prey.
Alone he sat watching from the shadows.

His heart started racing...he knew he was hypnotized.
He watched her approach.

Steadily she drew near her prey.
She could sense the tension.

Carefully, she stood next to him,
whilst sipping her MARTINI!

"Come here often, she asked"

Little Charlie stuck out his tongue to catch the falling snowflakes.
Emma watched him as she packed up a snowball to throw at Little Charlie.

The children were excited to be out of school for the day.

Little Charlie saw the snowball fly by...Emma missed!
They savored the moment and knew that hot chocolate awaited.
