This 55 is inspired by the g-man's Tuesday TMI post. It was about King Henry VIII.
If you haven't read it, you should! If you have a 55 to post please go see the g-man at Mr. Know-It-All and let him know...
Lady In Waiting
I am bound to obey and serve...
to serve the Queen and the King, if need be.
To be useful in all that I do...
to be available at any given moment.
I am of certain virtue, wisdom and gentleness.
I am summoned to see the KING!
I enter, caustiously...
Into the foul smelling chamber.

wow. nicely done 55. the last line caught me a bit after her introduction...perhaps a bit of dread in the waiting.
Maybe it is his bits of flesh taken to the scullery where best serving that king is found.
Stinky 55 :-) Very nicely done Lulda. As always, clever.
My 55 is posted here.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Chef Kar
Lovely, well written! And the picture on the top right is truly enigmatic.;)
One would think the King would not stink.

I think with the bathing frequency back then, most places probably smelled pretty bad! Good one!

I love the way you built the tension into this one, starting out so gently and building to such a moment. This has such class! I love it!
One wouldn't have wanted to be 'at court' at that time! LOL
Good one Lulda. :)
