Thematic Photographic #43 - "Reflective"

If you haven't done it already, check out Carmi over at Written, Inc. for more thematic goodness.

This picture is so special to me because it has my 1st Lab in it, on the run. My Chocko passed away in 2008, so when I see this picture I think of the great times we had together and all the great places he went with us...He is chasing my car... he is running after my husband who is driving away.

I'm sure the beach is a place that many people find "reflective".

For me when I'm at the beach, I think of the past, the people who are no longer here and the friends and family who are living in distant places that I haven't seen for a long time.
I think about my current problems and how to solve them.... I reflect on my future and wonder how long do I have left here on earth...what should I do now! Etc....Etc....you get the picture.

I want to make a note that the date on this picture is not the true date this was taken. But, interestingly it is my birthday...but of course, not the year!

In my life and view, mountains are my beaches. It is a beautiful composed photo and brought to mind Chrissy, a 20 year old wire haired terrier we had who died in the mountains of Virginia one day.

Be Well Lulda. And uhhh happy belated birthday for this year!

That is just a beautiful shot and all the more magnificent for the context. I know how you miss your friend, I've been down that path many times. And something about this photo of him running on the beach with the light the way it is... just fantastic.

i very much appreciate how a stroll along the water can help you clarify your thoughts. it's like the tides rinse away the stuff that gunks up your mind.

Protege: thanks...

the walking man: Oh, I'll have to post a nice mtn pic for you then! A 20year old dog? Is that in peoples age or dogs??? :D At least Chrissy passed in a lovely place.

G-Man: I can see that...holidays are times of reflection for sure. Oy VAY 55 55 55....

Mojo: I know I just love this shot...but need to go back and retouch and take out the stupid date! :D

lime: Since I'm a Pisces you know I need the water to help me re-energize and get rid of the muck!

Lulda she was 20 years old according to the calendar...she got up from the back seat where she'd been lying down, took a look around at the Shenandoah Valley, laid down and died. No strain on her at all.

Two weeks later we found the Jack Russel who killed the bear, now named Edwina Clarice, she is spoiled.

Love your post, and your blog.
I always get reflective at the ocean, whether it is in Florida or Maine....don't get there often, but when I do, I always find myself digging deeper into my head, and looking at things maybe in a different way.
Thanks.
So sorry about your lab.....my pit is 12, and failing, and I can't even wrap by brain around that.

Oh. my. word! What a fabulous photo! The sky. The water. The reflection. Your precious puppy. Wonderful. How nice for you that you have this moment captured to remind you.

I find the beach a place of reflection too.

I played along as well albeit a bit too late. I liked my photo so decided to post it anyway.

And if you have a chance could you please stop by Sweetanlo's Reflective Post

She has an amazing reflective photo posted and is afraid that no one will see it since she posted so late.
