OH WELL (Friday 55)

I'm Old and I'm cold...
Winter has settled in tonight.

As I sit by the stove in low light,
I listen to what I'm told.

I don't recognize this house...
so, I'll stay quiet as a mouse.

I hear the ringing of a bell...
I now remember the smell.

It's Christmas time again...
Oh well!

Christmas is the only thing to look forward to, when you're getting 10" of snow like we are!

I love the "oh well" response to Christmas at the end. I love it but sometimes it's just too much to handle.

BD: I would gladly accept some of that white stuff in exchange for this spitting rain!

Queen Bee: I know what you mean...this year I'm being very low key with the gift giving.

marvelous marriage of picture and word. his expression does seem to be saying just that.

Thanks for visiting me :)

We are warm here in New Zealand - just finished putting up two sun umbrellas for the family coming for dinner.. sorry to hear about so much rain and snow and cold for you all..
There is a tiny down side.. too hot to binge eat, can'lt see the lights until late in the evening, no excuse to sit round the fire..

Oh well...
